As we cannot seat on the upper beds we booked, our friendly neighbor hosts us downstairs.
He is traveling with her daughter. An other woman lays next by. When we ask them where they come from, the guy tells us he is Ukrainian, and the woman explains quite sharply that she is Tatar.
As Wikipedia tells, “The Tatars are a native people of the Volga region of Russia, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. Most Tatars live in the Russian Federation with a population of 5.5 million, including 2 million in the republic of Tatarstan, 1 million in the republic of Bashkortostan and 2.5 million in other regions of Russia. After the dissolution of the USSR, significant populations of Tatars found themselves in the newly independent Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine”.
As far as I know, this is the first Tatar I meet !
After a while I’m getting bored. Hopefully, the little Ukrainian girl is willing to show me her new treasures.
On my side, I’ll be delighted to show her how she can kill evil pigs with silly birds… Shame on me.
