I left Townsville for Mackay, a long Greyhound ride to discover this town’s Art Deco buildings. The city was settled in 1862. At the time, most buildings were made from timber and iron but due to the tropical climate, they were deteriorating quickly. In 1918, a great cyclone destroyed everything. That’s why the city was reconstructed in an “Art Deco” style.

Is it really worth staying in that hole ? I don’t think so. So I go back toVictoria and Tennyson Corner, where the Greyhound will grab me. Ufff, smart choice. In a couple of hours I’ll be a bit up North, in Airlie Beach, the perfect spot to chill out by their amazing lagoon…

And finally finish my sunblock cream. The first time in my life I’m actually using the very end of a sun cream !Capture d’écran 2014-03-02 à 02.41.14
